The activity aims at raising awareness of the environmental, social and economic impact of the methods of production based on iniquity, long supply chain, minimising costs and delocalizing. As a result, the activity highlights the responsibilities linked to everyone’s purchasing decisions.

The activity raises awareness of the fact that migrants from different areas of the world and time periods have moved for similar reasons and expectations, and it develops the capacity to observe the same issue from a multiplicity of perspectives (decentralization).

Through the study of a big country in the South of the world (Brazil), the activity aims at raising awareness of bio-cultural diversities, at developing the capacity to analyse the same issue on different geographical scales (transcalarity), and at focusing the attention on rights such as respect, social equity, justice and the dynamics which encourage their violations.

The images aim at raising awareness of the environmental consequences due to the continuous burning of energy resources accumulated in million years.
The activity aims as well at encouraging the development of the capacity to grasp the global interconnections and at having an environmentally-responsible behaviour.

Vol 3 - MAP OF THE WORLD SPLIT BETWEEN TWO POWERS

The activity aims at raising awareness of the number of countries and people living outside the “North- Western” world and of «North-Western» countries’ leading role after the Second World War.
The activity aims as well at encouraging the development of the capacity of decentralization, that is, in this case, the capacity to observe historical processes from a different perspective rather than the “North- Western”’s one.

Maps and activities raise awareness of the risks of environmental degradation and consequences that such damage may have among the human community, highlighting the necessity to modify our current lifestyle.

Through maps and historical facts showing the Viking great expansion, the activity aims at grasping the existence of cultural interrelations in Europe (and not only) almost a thousand years ago. More generally, the activity aims at developing the capacity to grasp the interdependence between apparently unalike political and cultural events.

Vol 2 - MARCO POLO, IBN BATTUTA AND ZHENG HE’S JOURNEYS AND THE EXPLORATIONS OF THE 15th AND 16th CENTURIES

The description of the journeys accomplished by one African, one European and one Asian person between the 13th and the 15th century raises awareness of the existence of interconnections among continents before the “great geographical discoveries”. The activity encourages the capacity to compare oneself with different realities rather than the usual one (decentralization)

Vol 2 - A NON-HEGEMONIC SYSTEM

The comparison between the great empires existing approximately in the year 1450 CE and those existing 1500 years before helps to develop the capacity to grasp continuity and discontinuity

Vol 2 - THE ENVIRONMENTAL EXCHANGE BETWEEN OLD AND NEW WORLD

Observing food, animals and diseases which the Afro-Euro-Asian and American worlds have started to export mutually after 1492, the activity helps to consider the importance that such exchanges have had in our daily life.
At the same time the activity helps to develop the capacity to grasp the interrelations in order to explain the current and historical reality.
