Usually, when studying the history of the period around the first century of the Common Era, in European Schools we focus on the events of the Roman Empire. Looking at what was happening simultaneously outside our continent can reserve some surprises that help develop the ability to decentralize, i.e. not to consider oneself at the centre of the world, and to dialogue with points of view other than one's own.
