On the 13th of September 2020 in Sofia, Bulgaria the „GET UP AND GOALS!" project has been presented to the general public at a national forum dedicated to GCE and SDGs. The event has been attended by more than 50 teachers, principals of schools and kindergartens, university professors, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, NGOs and other stakeholders. The inspiring meeting with like-minded people has been dedicated to promoting the teaching of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Global Citizenship Education, the pedagogical challenges related to global and civic competences, the role of cinema in the formation of social competences and shared learning.
During the Conference a GUIDE FOR SUSTAINABLE AND GLOBAL SCHOOLS has been presented. The Guide is elaborated under the „GET UP AND GOALS!" project and it is a self-assessment tool aimed to support principals and teachers to self- asses how their schools are developing in terms of GCE and GSDs.
The guide is currently being tested by the partners in the 12 countries involved in the project and it will be soon available here for free download.
The event is part of the VIII National Conference on Global Education "Global Competences for a Sustainable World". During the conference, the annual Global School 2020 and Global School in Action Awards have been presented. We are happy to congratulate the winners, including the schools participating in the activities of the „GET UP ANF GOALS!" project! - 19 High School "Elin Pelin" - Sofia, The National High School in Finance and Business (NHSFB)- Sofia. We thank all the teachers involved in the project with whose help topics such as migration, climate change and overcoming inequalities are closer and more understandable to more than 500 students in the Bulgarian schools!
